In Stark Contrast to USrael - Russian Leader able to "ride through the streets of Damascus"

Putin Visits Assad in Syria January 2020

Yesterday, I reported on an amazing flip flop at the Pentagon--wherein a letter was sent to [and received by] the Iraqi government from the Americans stating their intention to "...respect the sovereignty of Iraq" and leave the country pursuant to a unanimous vote in the Iraqi Parliament.  Then, Washington back tracked and denied that the letter was legit...calling it a "draft" and a "memo" [which it obviously was not] and saying that the US has "no intentions of leaving Iraq".  Then, today we learn that the US will evacuate Iraq after all...moving its forces to Kuwait.

Meanwhile, while all this flip flopping was going on, Russian President Putin flew to the nearby war torn country of Syria and actually drove through the streets of Damascus.  This, in stark contrast to the Americans' hasty and ignominious departure from Iraq, tells the world who is actually winning the war on terror and, more importantly, who has the most effective approach when dealing with indigenous nations in the Middle East.  Here's a report from RT on Putin's meeting with Assad in Damascus and I will have more comments to follow:

Putin makes surprise visit to Syria, discusses security situation with Assad

Russian President Vladimir Putin has made a surprise visit to Syria, holding talks with his counterpart, Bashar Assad, at the Russian military command center.

Putin “rode through the streets of Damascus” on his way to the command center, where he headed after landing at the city’s airport, Kremlin Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov said.

The Russian president met with Assad there as the two leaders listened to reports by military officials on the conditions on the ground in various regions of the country. Russia has been assisting Syria in the fight against terrorists since 2014.

During their meeting, Putin told Assad that “the signs of peaceful life are visible to the naked eye on the streets of Damascus,” Peskov said.

He also pointed out that it can now safely be said that “a huge distance has been passed on the way to restoring Syria’s statehood and territorial integrity.”

Assad thanked Putin and the country’s military for the support in restoring peace in the country.

The Russian leader is scheduled to visit several other venues during his stay in Syria, Peskov added without revealing any details.

Putin's last trip to Syria took place in 2017 when he inspected the country's Khmeimim Air Base in the western Latakia Province."

Greencrow says:  It's nice to report on some upbeat news for a change after all the mysterious and chaotic sturm and drang coming out of Washington and Baghdad recently.  Putin shows [as he has shown throughout his political career] that it's not rocket science to get along with indigenous peoples in their own territories.  All that is needed is RESPECT, honesty and fairness.

Putin is welcome in Syria--while Trump is the most vilified human on the face of the earth--never mind just the Middle East.  Can you imagine Trump riding through the streets of ANY middle eastern country?  Even the borderless little entity...as is their want...is now distancing itself from him...some would say throwing him under the bus...after the tectonic diplomatic fiasco of the Iranian General's assassination.  The Israelis are always around, as we used to say in the '60's, "for a good time, not a long time".

Everyone is wondering what form the Iranian "revenge" for the assassination will take.  I believe they will not waste their fire on Trump.  He's a demented, narcissistic old fool.  The Iranians need to investigate who put him up to the assassination and go after (((them))).

The biggest question of all is how long Americans will tolerate their nation being occupied and hollowed out by the parasites.  Look.  Even the down trodden Iraqis have the gumption to vote unanimously in their Parliament to kick the ba$t@rds out.  Shouldn't the Americans do the same?  After all...this nightmare has been dragging on since November 22, 1963!

Putin has always been the adult in the room .While the US of Israel trashes every country around them that does not kneel ,Russia has no such demands of their
neighbors .The contrast could not be so obvious.
I do think that the writing is on the wall .The US will leave Iraq ,Syria and Afghanistan very very soon. The assassination of Qassem Soleimani has cemented this.
